WHAT IS A TROMBONE?
The trombone is a shiny brass instrument which is often gold. It's really long when the slide is extended andfor that reason, makes a low sound.
The trombone has no keys or buttons at all, but rather a slide that moves in and out to change notes. You use your breath and your lips to help you change notes without the aid of buttons or keys.
WHERE DOES IT FIT IN THE BAND?
Trombones sit up the back of the band and play low notes with the other big instruments. If size matters to you- maybe you'd like play the biggest instruments that Upscale Music offers.

HOW DO I KNOW IF IT'S FOR ME?
You like the idea of playing a big instrument which make a big sound. You need to buzz your lips and blow air into the mouthpiece-like your blowing a raspberry. To change notes you need long arms to reach out to all of the positions so this is something that might make you a good fit for trombone if you are tall.
There is one other instrument called a Euphonium which we may suggest if your good at blowing a trombone but haven't got long enough arms (yet!)
CAN I TRY IT ON FOR SIZE?
Absolutely! That's the best way to see if Trombone is the instrument for you. Book into an Instrument Demo session to try the Trombone with the guidance of an Upscale Music Teacher.
